The biology program (35 h) comprises:
- lectures (10 h);
- seminars (10 h);
- practical (15 h).
Lectures which describe selected aspects of general and medical ecology, interactions between different populations in ecosystem with a particular emphasis to pathogen-host (human) relationship which is a base of co-adaptation of both the human and pathogen during the evolution process.
Seminars which describe selected aspects of general/medical genetics.
Practical classes which discuss some issues concerning biology, epidemiology and diagnostics of human parasites, host-parasite relationship and general epidemiology
To effectively use time and to allow more time for practical training we have prepared the Study Guide which cannot, however, cover the whole field of medical parasitology. What the Study Guide does give is information regarding the biology of human parasites and the diagnostics and epidemiology of the diseases they cause.
The course coordinator is dr. Piotr NOWOSAD (Ph.D.).
